If
it is determined that your home is in need of
structural repairs, HD Foundations will take the
following steps to resolve your foundation
problems:
Step 1 – We
prepare the repair site by laying plywood and
tarp in the work area. Our repair team will
carefully remove your plants and transplant them
to the side.
Step 2 – To
lift and support your foundation, piers are
installed by placing hydraulically driven
concrete columns called pilings beneath the
foundation. These serve as a platform upon which
we set jacks to raise the settled portions of
the foundation. These concrete columns transfer
the weight of the building from the unstable
moisture-sensitive surface soils to deeper
layers of soil less affected by seasonal
moisture changes.
Step 3 –
Where the pilings are installed, we raise the
low parts to as near the original position as
possible. Jacks are placed on top of the piers.
Our foreman and crew chief monitor the reactions
of the structure. When the raising is complete
steel spacers called shims are inserted on
concrete blocks.
Step 4 -
Each hole is refilled and compacted with soil.
Concrete areas that were saw cut are patched.
Plants are replanted. Your yard, walks, and
drives are cleaned, raked, swept and washed.
